About Us

The Greater Gardner Chair City Chapter No. 3237 of AARP, Inc. was granted full chapter status on June 24, 1980, by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It was incorporated at that time by President Anna B. Beaudette, Treasurer Elaine A. Nyman, and Clerk Marian Clark

"to provide a channel through which members can engage in meaningful community service activities, and to offer members opportunities for self appraisal and assistance in planning lifestyles designed to attain maximum self-realization and enrichment."

Today, thirty-six years later, the Chapter is flourishing with 436 members many of whom meet once a month - on the third Wednesday of the month with the exception of July and August - at the Gardner Senior Center located at 94 Pleasant Street in Gardner, Mass.

Programs on varying topics are presented at the meetings, participation in parties three times a year is encouraged, and travel oppounities are offered both domestically and abroad.

Membership is open to anyone over the age of 50 who is in good standing with AARP's national organization, and who pay local dues of $5.00, as prescribed by the Chapter's By-Laws. The membership form can be found below, by clicking the "Download" link.
